Tuukka, Bruins’ Fourth Liners Rake The Leafs In Game 7, 5-1!
The Bruins and Maple Leafs have met three times in game 7’s in the past decade and the B’s kept their winning tradition alive, skating to a 5-1 series clinching win last night at the TD Garden. It was the second straight year the B’s took game 7 from Toronto and the third time in a decade, beating them in 2013, as well!
The Bruins are now the NHL’s all time leader in game 7 wins, with 15, overtaking the Montreal Canadians.
Tuukka Rask stood on his head making 32 saves for the B’s last night. Spectacular! Meanwhile, the Bruins’ 4th line provided unexpected offense, with Joakim Nordstrom and Sean Kuraly each adding a goal and an assist. Nordstrom had the first and Kuraly the back breaking third goal.
Bruins now face Columbus in the second round of the playoffs, hosting game one tomorrow night at the TD Garden. The Blue Jackets shocked the NHL by sweeping their first round series with Stanley Cup favorite Tampa Bay!
