The Tip The Bill Challenge is where your tip matches the amount of your restaurant bill. The challenge has picked up momentum over the last week but the hashtag #TipTheBill was spotted back in March for the first time on social media.
Most of the receipts posted have been for meals less than $20 but there are a few big spenders who have doubled up $75 tabs.
The goal is to show appreciation to hard working servers.
