Mark Hamill just drove the internet into speculation mode after posting a photo of himself freshly shaven to social media. Fans are going nuts trying to figure out what it could mean for the next Star Wars installment.

Many note that there isn’t enough time for Skywalker to grow a new Jedi beard before shooting begins. Details are light for what will happen in “Star Wars 9”, but fans expect Skywalker will return in some form, whether in flashbacks or through time-travel.

Meanwhile neither Lucasfilm nor Disney have given any indication to what role Hamill will have when the movie is released in December of next year.
