Put Some Real Thought Into Father’s Day Gifts!
Father’s Day isn’t about the gifts. They can be very nice and show appreciation and are greatly appreciated. As a Dad, though, I’d rather do something simple and memorable: go for an ice cream with my daughters like we used to do!
I spent many days driving up to Captain Dusty’s in Manchester-By-The-Sea for an ice cream with Abbey and Charlotte. Then we’d go across the street to Masconomo Park and they’d play on the swings. I would LOVE to do that on Father’s Day, but Charlotte is in DC for the summer, so we’ll celebrate with an ice cream run when she comes home later in the summer!
I will enjoy spending time with my daughter, Abbey, and my eight month old grandson, Harvey! I’m also going to Maine to visit the greatest Dad, ever, my Dad, Al Morse. We’re going to have lunch at our favorite spot, Goldthwaite’s in Biddeford Pool!
Whatever it is you choose for your Dad, I’m sure it will be something he appreciates!
Below, some ideas to help you with some Father’s Day ideas!
Dads can be tough to buy for on Fathers’ Day. To be honest, I really have enough stuff! I’d rather have a special picture with family in a cheap little frame. It’s the memories and the experiences more than “things” that matter to me! . It’s about 28 cents to develop a picture at CVS and it’s easy to find a $4 frame on clearance at Marshall’s. The memory will last forever!
That being said, Dads do have things they love, like steak, flip flops and massages. Below, find some links to things Dads love!
