VIDEO: Lindsey Buckingham Addresses Exit From Fleetwood Mac

Here's my interpretation of what Lindsey Buckingham had to say: wahhhhhhhhhhh!

Seriously? Lindsey, you're a great guitarist, producer, songwriter but as I said before (read HERE), you are just one of many, albeit one of the longest, players in the game of Fleetwood Mac. It's not. your. band.

Futhermore, the band, as a unit, wanted to tour sooner than you did because you have solo projects you're working on and let's be real: some of the members (the founding members I might add) of Fleetwood Mac have been doing this since 1967. So how can I say this: They're not getting any younger. At this stage of the game their days are numbered. They're not gonna live forever. If not now when. Time's awaistin'. Time is of the essence. You get my drift.

So at least own your part in this little 'departure'. The group wanted to tour wanted to tour later. Impasse.

Very little has been said publicly about the split between Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey Buckingham, but Buckingham broke his silence on the matter over the weekend.

Buckingham was performing at a campaign fundraiser for California Democratic congressional candidate Mike Levin, and during his set, he touched on his exit saying it “was not something that was really my doing or my choice.”

He would go on to say that “there were factions within the band that had lost their perspective.”  After that line of dialogue, someone in the crowd then yelled, “F*ck Stevie Nicks!”, which Buckingham responded, “Well, it doesn’t really matter.  The point is that they’d lost their perspective, and what that did was to harm - and this is the only thing I’m really sad about, the rest of it becomes an opportunity - it harmed the 43-year legacy that we had worked so hard to build.”

Wow...with a diplomatic answer like that, you would’ve thought Lindsey was running for office!
