When you make the commitment to run a marathon, something in you changes.
It's a subtle change that happens during the training runs that last over several months.
At some point you become so committed, the marathon becomes so important, that your whole life revolves around it.
The day of the race the challenge is as much in your mind as it is in your body, if not more so. I remember being at the start of the Boston Marathon 2004 and completely feeling like I didn't belong there with all the other "runners".
Whether or not you finish is irrelevant as all of your work to this point has put you at the start of a race with yourself.
I love to run but for some reason don't make the time for it as much as I used to which bums me out.
Looking at these pictures makes me wanna get my ass out there more often. If you've ever thought you might want to do a marathon, not to sound like Nike but....just do it.
It's awesome.
