FLASHBACK: David Letterman Inducts Pearl Jam Into The Rock Hall
The great David Letterman celebrates his birthday today (April 12), and with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this Saturday, we would be remiss if we didn’t look back on his excellent speech induction Pearl Jam.
Letterman was filling in for Neil Young, who was originally tapped to induct the Grunge icons but had to bow out for unspecified health reasons. (Not a half-bad replacement, right?) The speech was touching and absolutely hilarious.
Pearl Jam performed on The Late Show a number of times over the course of Letterman’s nearly 22 years as host, and Eddie Vedder appeared as a musical guest during Letterman’s final week as host of The Late Show.

(Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
