While it's for a good cause, this is an odd idea.

The state of Connecticut department of motor vehicles unveiled a new commemorative license plate that bears the the logo of The Hartford Whalers, the city's professional hockey team. Only one small problem: the team LEFT Hartford twenty years ago, because reportedly, the city would not build a new arena for the team. The team left the state in 1997, becoming the Carolina Hurricanes, leaving a bad taste to some.

Forty-five dollars from the sale of each plate, which usually costs $60, will benefit a new infusion and dialysis center at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.

Coming soon: XFL key chains!!

Think this plate could sell?
