Today is A.A. Milne's 136th birthday! The author of the beloved children's books about a honey-addicted bear and his Hundred Acre Wood crew named the character Winnie-the-Pooh after a teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, who was the basis for the character - no big surprise here: Christopher Robin.

Christopher Robin Milne's real toy bear is on display at the New York Public Library. Who knew?

Fun fact: I gave my bridesmaids Winnie-the-Pooh figurines for being in my wedding. I cannot believe they still talk to me.

I've often thought of Winnie-the-Pooh as simply a bear with an overactive appetite and anxiety issues, but really, he was  ON POINT with life lessons.

Like this one:

It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like ‘What about lunch?”

Preach, Pooh!

Check out these quotes and, in the name of Ey0re,  have yourself a great day!

"I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time."

"Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude."

"Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them."

"The things that make me different are the things that make me"
