WARNING: Your Christmas Laser Lights Could Be Dangerous To Pilots And Airplanes! – Hank
I LOVE Christmas lights so much! I am a bit of a traditionalist. I still enjoy seeing those big old, multicolored C9 bulbs on people’s houses. It’s a throwback to my youth in the 70’s. I am, however, a fan of some of the newer lights, like the hanging icicle lights and the light projectors that show old fashioned images on the sides of houses.
I’ve been 50/50 on the laser lights that shine on homes and move around. The are pretty cool, but can get kind of annoying. BUT, a new report says those laser lights travel a lot further than you think and can be a danger to pilots as they fly nearby. The FAA has asked that home owners make sure that their laser lights are shining on the house and not beyond. The lights can distract or blind pilots in the cockpit, which can lead to a potential hazzard.
