First it was the Hilltop Steak House on Route 1 in Saugus. GONE! Then Weylu’s. Augustine’s Restaurant is long gone. Then they tore down the miniature golf course, but are saving the Big Orange Dinosaur. Now, The Ship Restaurant is no more. Knocked down yesterday. Another piece of Route 1 history gone by the wayside. I hope they don’t tear down Hockey Town in Saugus!

LYNNFIELD - The grim reaper of Route 1's landmarks struck again with the take-down of the iconic Ship Restaurant. New Hampshire Demolition tore down the nautical structure Monday and plans to spend the next few weeks cleaning up the property.
