RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - SEPTEMBER 20: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Rod Stewart performs at 2015 Rock in Rio on September 20, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Rod Stewart has unleashed a new version of “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy” on the world to celebrate a new recording deal with Republic Records.

Stewart created the “re-imagined” version of the 1978 hit with the pop group DNCE (fronted by Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers), which will join Stewart to perform it live Sunday night (August 27) on the MTV Video Music Awards.   (Listen to teaser below.)

“Da Ya Think I’m Sexy” — which was co-written by Stewart, drummer Carmine Appice and Duane Hitchings — hit No. 1 in six countries, including the U.S., when it was released. Stewart donated royalties from the song to UNICEF and performed it at the Music For UNICEF Concert at the United Nations during January of 1979. It ranks at No. 308 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time.
