First it was The Hilltop Restaurant in Saugus. Closed! Then, most recently, the miniature golf course with the big orange dinosaur closed on Route 1 South, although the dino will be saved and salvaged. Now, Lanes and Games, the legendary bowling alley on Route 2 in Cambridge, has set its' final pins. They closed yesterday after more than 40 years. I went there as a kid, took my own kids bowling there and even played Santa Claus at a company Christmas party there. My good friend's mom worked there for over 30 years. They were great days. Now a new housing development is going to be built on the property. I'm all for change, improving neighborhoods and planning for the future, but it's kind of sad when a part of your personal history is closed! :)
