The world’s fascination will sharks has been locally focused in the last several years, since the explosion of the shark population off the coast of Chatham and Cape Cod. Researchers are learning more and more about these mysterious, powerful and often misunderstood creatures!

Dr. Greg Skomal, the Massachusetts Department of Marine Fisheries’ senior fisheries biologist, is a shark expert, who also works with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy. During a research trip on Monday, Dr. Skomal put a GoPro camera on the end of a long pole and managed to get a Great White to bite the camera. The video is spectacular and very unique! Check it out!
