And people have been looking for them ever since.
Lots of theories have been bandied about, but the History channel's new special explores new one: Noonan and Earhart were prisoners in a Japanese war camp. A recently unearthed photograph of what is believed to be Earhart and Noonan and their downed plane points to that theory. It's all FASCINATING stuff, people. You've got to read this and look closer at the photos.
