Your Chance Of Getting Bitten By A Shark In MA! – Hank

It’s officially summer and that means school is out, ice cream, trips to the beach, family vacations……AND……WAIT FOR IT…….great white sharks on Cape Cod. The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy estimates…

TRURO, MA – AUGUST 12: A fishing boat passes as a colony of several hundred seals sit on a sandbar at High Head Beach during low tide on Cape Cod on August 12, 2012 in Truro, Massachusetts. A man was confirmed to have been bitten by a great white shark less than two weeks ago in the ocean near the shoreline of Truro in Cape Cod. An increase in the seal population on Cape Cod has led to increased shark sightings including great whites. (Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images)

It's officially summer and that means school is out, ice cream, trips to the beach, family vacations......AND......WAIT FOR IT.......great white sharks on Cape Cod.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy estimates there are already 150 great whites off the coast of Chatham. Attacks are rare, but do occur. But, honestly, you shouldn't worry about it. That's what the experts say, anyway.

The Cape Cod population swells to a half million people during the summer months. I'm not that good at math, but that's 3,333.3 people per shark. LOL!!

Still, the odds are in your favor that you WON'T get attacked!

By the way, "Shark Week" on Discovery Channel begins Sunday, July 23rd.
