Some people used to suggest that I had a body built by Toll House cookies and it was tough to argue! They are my FAVORITE! That cookie dough, too! My mother would always make a huge batch before we left for summer vacation and I’d have most of them gone by the time we crossed the Piscataqua River Bridge from New Hampshire into Maine! LOL

Secret's out! Here's the 'real recipe' for Toll House chocolate chip cookies

Massachusetts claims a lot of "firsts" in our country: the first Thanksgiving, the first World Series, the first American university and the very first modern day chocolate chip cookie. It was created at the Toll House Inn in Whitman in 1938. Ruth Graves Wakefield owned the inn, and her right-hand lady in the kitchen was Sue Brides.
