Lucy has been taking horseback riding lessons at the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children in Canton for many years now (I think nine?).
She started on a pony, Merry Legs, graduated to a small horse, Milkshake, and now she rides Cecil, who is big and smart and loves Lucy (and carrots.)
Each year, they have a Horses and Hooves show so family and friends can see the impact hippotherapy (or therapeutic riding) has on kids with special needs. Lucy has physically improved through riding - from core strength to coordination to posture. Emotionally, it's been so important for her self confidence!
We love the program, the horses and, especially, the dedicated staff. And Lucy finally got a blue ribbon!! - LBF
