Anger sells -- especially if it's a Beatle's anger.
A fiery letter John Lennon wrote to Paul and Linda McCartney in 1971 fetched nearly $29,843 at auction late last week, well beyond the $20,000 RR Auction of Boston projected.
The typed letter, on stationary from Lennon and Ono's Bag Productions Inc. is clearly in response to a prior letter for Linda apparently criticizing for Lennon for remarks he had made about the Beatles and for returning his MBE medal to Buckingham Palace.
At the time the Beatles were in court after disagreements about the future direction of the band, including who would manage it.
The letter can be read in full at RRAuction.com.
