Van Halen disappointed fans in Hershey, Pa., over the weekend when the group canceled its show on Sunday night (August 23) when frontman David Lee Roth fell ill.
The group issued a statement saying that, "Due to David Lee Roth suffering from the flu and the doctor recommending he rest his throat, Van Halen's concert...at Hersheypark Stadium has been canceled."
The group offered refunds at the point of purchase, while bassist Wolfgang Van Halen posted a note on Facebook saying, "This sucks...To all the fans, we are SO sorry. This is a huge bummer. We were really looking forward to this show. I really wish this wasn't the situation."
Van Halen is next scheduled to play on Tuesday (August 25) in Darien Center, N.Y., and has 19 shows remaining on its summer tour, wrapping October 4 at the Hollywood Bowl in Van Halen's native California.
